Trinity Heritage Society

Leaving a Legacy at Trinity University

The Trinity Heritage Society was established to recognize and thank a special group of individuals who have included Trinity in their current and future estate planning; see below to qualify. Through their generous support, these individuals take part in shaping the future of Trinity while preserving its traditions and mission.

Since its inception, many alumni, friends, and parents have made Trinity a beneficiary of their estates. Please consider Trinity in a meaningful way when you create or update your estate plan.

Qualifying for Membership

Becoming a member of the Trinity Heritage Society is quite simple. In fact, you may have already qualified for membership if you have included us in your estate plan.

There are many ways in which you may qualify for membership in the Trinity Heritage Society. Membership is open to those who share with us in writing their intent or have already completed an estate gift.

  • A bequest, which is a gift included in your will or living trust, is flexible, easy, and a time-honored way to establish a lasting legacy.
  • Gifts of retirement assets: Designate Trinity University as a full or partial beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or other retirement plans. This may allow you to give more than you thought possible while reducing taxes that may otherwise consume these assets.
  • A gift that provides you a life time income, such as a charitable gift annuity or trust, and specifies Trinity as the charitable beneficiary.
  • A charitable lead trust that provides income to Trinity.
  • Gifts of life insurance policies.
  • A gift of real estate, such as primary residence, a second home, ranch, farm, or undeveloped land.
  • Consider a gift of personal property, art, rare books, and coins.

If you have made one of these commitments or intend to do so, please let us know. We would like to say thank you and express to you the importance of your gift to the future of Trinity University.

Our staff is experienced in assisting donors with questions about making an estate gift. We are ready to meet with you to discuss what option is best for you and how you might achieve your goals. Please contact the Trinity University Planned Giving Office at (210) 999-7697.
